Which strap material offers the highest durability?

Stainless steel is the strongest choice when maximum overall durability is the priority. Textile has a different advantage: it is lightweight, flexible, and resistant to tearing, while small scratches and signs of wear are generally less noticeable on the fabric. Mesh offers flexible, breathable strength, while Leather provides natural resilience when properly maintained.

Which strap material is most comfortable for sensitive skin?

All Detomaso straps are designed for comfortable everyday wear. Stainless steel and mesh use stainless steel 316L and are allergy-neutral and nickel-free. Textile and leather offer a softer feel, with textile being particularly lightweight and breathable. Our textile straps are paired with nickel-free buckles.

Can I wear my textile strap while running or during a workout?

Yes. Textile is lightweight, flexible, and well suited to running and active everyday use. Because the fabric can absorb sweat and body oils, we recommend cleaning it regularly after heavier workouts.

The watch head has its own care requirements as well: quartz watches are generally resistant to movement such as jogging or running, while we recommend avoiding jogging with automatic watches because repeated shocks and vibrations can affect their internal components.

For high-impact sports or activities where the case or glass could be heavily scratched or shattered, remove the watch.

Can I swim with a textile strap in the pool or ocean?

Textile straps can handle water and dry relatively quickly, but we recommend avoiding swimming with watches rated at 5 ATM or 10 ATM. If the strap is exposed to chlorine or saltwater, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water afterward to help protect the Textile fibers.

Can I wear a textile strap in the sauna?

Textile is breathable and comfortable in warm conditions, but we recommend removing the watch before entering a sauna. The extreme combination of heat and humidity can affect the watch head and its components, regardless of the strap material.

How should I clean and wash my textile strap?

Remove the strap and hand-wash it in warm water with a mild detergent. Gently work the fabric to release sweat, oils, and dirt, then rinse thoroughly and let it air-dry completely. Avoid aggressive cleaning methods and do not expose the strap to unnecessary heat while drying.

What should I do if my textile strap looks discoloured or stained?

Textile fibers can collect sweat, oils, and dirt in the weave, which may make the strap appear darker or stained over time. This does not necessarily mean the material itself has lost its color. Wash the strap gently in warm water with mild soap, rinse it thoroughly, and allow it to air-dry away from direct sunlight.

Is it easy to adjust the length of a textile strap?

Yes. Depending on the textile strap design, it may use a traditional buckle-and-hole system or an adjustable slide clasp. Both options allow you to fine-tune the fit comfortably around your wrist.

Are all Detomaso straps compatible with every watch?

Not all straps fit. Strap compatibility depends on the correct width and, in some cases, the specific connection mechanism of the watch. Most straps are selected according to the required width, such as 20 mm or 22 mm. One important exception is the D14 system: D14 uses a different mechanism and is designed specifically for the Voltre Chronograph. To make this clear, compatible straps are marked with “D14” in the strap name. D14 straps should only be used with the Voltre Chronograph.

For other watches, you can also create your own combination by choosing a strap with the correct width, but keep in mind that the hardware, colors, and finishes may vary between models.
